variety of juried competitions. Her photos have appeared in and won awards

SHELLEY STANG was born in Jackson, Michigan. She has traveled
extensively through the US, Caribbean Islands, United Kingdom and Costa
Rica. Whether it is colorful fish and sea life, gorgeous fabrics or the scenery
encountered on her travels, color and texture have been constants in
Shelley’s life. She started taking photographs a couple years ago as a hobby
with her mother and sister. She joined the Indian River Photo Club in 2010
and went on to win many ribbons in the club. In 2011, she won 1st
Place in Color at the Annual McKee Gardens Photo Contest and recently
placed 1st in Color-Flora at the Annual IRPC Contest held at the Vero Beach
Museum of Art. She currently uses a Kodak Z981 digital camera. Her
specialty is flowers, especially the lilies and lotus blossoms at McKee
Gardens. She loves to experiment with composition and digital manipulation.
Her ultimate goal with each photograph is to form an image that could not be
seen without the use of a camera, to stretch and
bend recorded reality into something more.
